Wow! It's been a long time since we've posted anything on our site. Almost a month! Well, we have some good reasons. The week after we got back from Nashville, I was out all week with strep throat. Oh yeah, that was fun. My teeth started hurting, I was clenching them so hard every time I swallowed. That weekend gave no rest for the weary. SMYC 2003 was that weekend, and since I try to help out with the technology stuff at the conference, I was busy the whole time. Go check out the site...there's lots of seminar MP3s to download.
Anyway, as soon as we got back from SMYC, Bec came down with (so we thought) strep. On Monday she went to the OB for her monthly checkup, and he gave her the same meds I had the week before. We were hopeful that they would help, but alas, a week went by and no change occurred. And a miserable week it was for Bec. All the ailments were piling on...sore throat, headache, fever, back spasms, acid reflux...you name it, and it came to the party.
Bec went to the doctor again this week because there had been no change. He decided that it must not have been strep throat, and was instead some sort of bacterial infection. So, we traipsed off to the local Walgreens and brought home no less than 4 prescriptions to try to squelch this thing. I think she's finally starting to get better, though slowly. We have high hopes of much improvement over the next few days.
What we're up to next...
Tomorrow Bec's mom is coming to stay with us and help with all the cookin and cleaning. What a blessing that is! If any of you had ever eaten anything I've attempted to cook, you would see the great grace that this brings to us! That's not to say that God hasn't been taking care of us these last two weeks. Just Wednesday, Lynn Hollingsworth and Cindy Cook made us a great pan of lasagna and a chocolate cake! And tonight, Julie Evans, Bec's mentor, brought over chicken casserole, broccoli cheese casserole, and banana bread. Woohoo! It's so cool to see how the Body of Christ cares for itself! And if you're reading this, thank you again, Lynn, Cindy, and Julie!
Tomorrow night Bec and I are going to try to make it to the Ginny Owens concert at the New City Cafe downtown. We've been a big fan of her music for the last year or so. She's just got such compelling lyrics that it's hard not to be provoked to deep thought when you hear her. We're pretty pumped.
Anywho, that's what's goin' on with us lately. What's going on with you? Let us know!
